Our Journey
01/07 - Decide to start trying. Assumed we would have a baby in October. Saw my OB/GYN who told me to call him in a few months when we were pregnant.
03/07 - Started charting using basal body temps and "tried harder". Had a period every month, 28th day, like clock-work.
01/08 - Realized something must be wrong and returned to my doc's office.
02/08 - Sperm analysis (SA) shows 0% morphology, everything else normal. Failed independent adoption days after finding out SA results.
03/08 - Repeat (SA) still with 0% morphology. Heath goes to a urologist who finds no abnormalities. Erin has bloodwork - all normal.
05/08 - First appt with Reproductive Endocrinologist. We were told we would only get pregnant through IVF. Tried for financing - weren't approved.
08/08 - Awaiting decision from birth mother about independent adoption #2.
09/08 - Failed adoption #2. Don't know where to turn next.
01/09 - Decide to foster, with the intention of adopting. Paperwork turned in and waiting for a home study
02/09 - Assigned a case worker, have a home study and told we will likely have a placement in May/June.
03/09 - Start DHS parenting classes. Home study begins. We're told we could have a placement this month!
04/09 - Sign our contract with DHS. Lots of waiting. Things not happening as quickly as we had hoped.
05/09 - hoping this will be the month...
05/08/09 - Take little J home with us. 5 days old and love at first sight!

Because you don't know what your options are unless you exhaust them all and you haven't gotten a sign from God what His plan is. You did what you had to, you had to know.

Erin, I'm still praying for you. My heart breaks for you.
Erin, it will happen, I don't know when, I don't know how, but it will. I've been thinking about you often, please don't give up.
I am so sorry, it will happen for you. We too having been dealing with IF and it is the most heart breaking thing we have ever gone through. Hope is what keeps us going, it will happen for both you, I am certain of it!
You do it because you feel called to be a mother! No one could fault you for that.
I'm sending prayers your way too.
Oh Erin....my heart goes out to you. It will happen. It just needs to be the right time.
I heard a quote once that said men in exile survive on the hope of dreams. Don't give up. Clutch your Hope.
We are all praying for you.
I don't "know" of anyone more deserving of motherhood than you, and I'm hoping with all my heart that you find solace in your next try.
I am terribly sorry. I will never understand why it has to be so hard.

I don't know you, but I feel compelled to comment. Please don't give up. It will happen when it is supposed to happen. You have to keep the faith! You are in my thoughts! Good luck and stay strong.

I'm sorry Erin. I hate this!! You are going to be a great mother one day. I wish we lived closer so I can go over and we can eat a big fat gallon of ice cream!
