Our Journey
01/07 - Decide to start trying. Assumed we would have a baby in October. Saw my OB/GYN who told me to call him in a few months when we were pregnant.
03/07 - Started charting using basal body temps and "tried harder". Had a period every month, 28th day, like clock-work.
01/08 - Realized something must be wrong and returned to my doc's office.
02/08 - Sperm analysis (SA) shows 0% morphology, everything else normal. Failed independent adoption days after finding out SA results.
03/08 - Repeat (SA) still with 0% morphology. Heath goes to a urologist who finds no abnormalities. Erin has bloodwork - all normal.
05/08 - First appt with Reproductive Endocrinologist. We were told we would only get pregnant through IVF. Tried for financing - weren't approved.
08/08 - Awaiting decision from birth mother about independent adoption #2.
09/08 - Failed adoption #2. Don't know where to turn next.
01/09 - Decide to foster, with the intention of adopting. Paperwork turned in and waiting for a home study
02/09 - Assigned a case worker, have a home study and told we will likely have a placement in May/June.
03/09 - Start DHS parenting classes. Home study begins. We're told we could have a placement this month!
04/09 - Sign our contract with DHS. Lots of waiting. Things not happening as quickly as we had hoped.
05/09 - hoping this will be the month...
05/08/09 - Take little J home with us. 5 days old and love at first sight!

OH my gosh, Erin, I am so excited for you guys! Your first real step!! I can't wait to hear how it goes, and I will say a special prayer tonight that it goes well.

wow, i just read your blog from your comment on Mandi's blog. It is so amazing how much you can have in common with a complete stranger. I feel what you're going through. I read your post about Christmas and I completely understood. We have a four year old that we were incredibly blessed with. After years of infertility, we did conceive and she is our miracle child. We have wanted other children and it is just not going to happen. NOt the way that WE planned on, anyway. God has moved our hearts towards adoption for a few years now. After some minor setbacks, our home study is FINALLY complete. We are looking forward to what God will bring us. Maybe nothing, maybe a huge family! Our daughter would love it :) I am praying for you and your husband and will follow along your journey.
You will do fine :) God is with you. I have been where you are to long for a child and my God has provided more than I could have dreamed!
