Packin' and trying to be still.

Did I forget to mention that I'll be viva'ing it up in Vegas in 7 days with the Husband and my parents?

While I'm super pumped about our little vacay, it's also bitter sweet.

You see, if our most recent adoption would have worked out, I still would have taken a week's worth of vacation. But, instead of partyin' it up in the city 'o sin, we would be roadtrippin' it to my sister's in San Antonio so she could meet her new neice.

I love Vegas, but you can see why I wish I wasn't going.

In other news, please say a little prayer for a new prospect that is brewing (not another private adoption...that ship has sailed for now). I don't want to say much more about it because I'm not anywhere near believing that it will work out, but a lot of prayer never hurts. God never fails to surprise me though. I should know by now that He never leaves my side. Right when I start to feel hopeless again, He has a perfect way of showing me that He hasn't forgotten about us and He can do anything. I find myself feeling discouraged that I cannot predict where or when a baby will come into our lives. Then, God shows me that it doesn't have to be something I can predict. It could come from anywhere! A good friend of my mom's got me a plaque recently that reads "Be still and know that I am God - Psalms 46:10". It sounds so simple, but I constantly need to be reminded of that.

I think a nice little vaycay to Vegas is exactly what you need. Enjoy yourself and only think of the positive aspects of this trip, k? And take lots of pictures.

Thanks for writing this. It was exactly what I needed to read tonight. I wish I could predict how life was going to happen and when. I hope that you have a great time in Vegas, and that your spirits are lifted up high, and that you get some good R&R, and that God answers your prayers in his amazing ways.

Praying for you and God plans for your family.
I hope you have a wonderful time in Las Vegas with your husband and your family. I've learned that even though things don't work out, it's good to enjoy the blessings that are currently in your life. :) *Hugs*

I'll keep you in my prayers. I constantly need to be reminded that God is the only one in control. We have to trust in Him. I'm always trying to jump ahead of the game & I'm often reminded that it isn't about what I want, it is about what God has planned. Anyway, I can't wait to read about your news, but in the meantime, have a nice time in Vegas!

Have a fantastic time in Vegas! I also constantly have to remember that God is in control, and to be still and honor him. I read and re-read Traveling Light so many times just for that purpose.

Also, I'm a relatively recent reader of your blog, so I'm sorry if this isn't applicable or is out of line. I just wanted to ask if you've ever heard about Heart Gallery. There's one in just about every state, and it's professional pictures of children in foster care waiting to be adopted. Some states only do teens, but some do infants as well.

Well fist off have a great vacation, eat, drink and be merry. Second I will pray for you and your family, one thing my husband always tells me when i am stressing is that it will all work out, because it has too. I know it sounds weird but for some reason knowing that he isnt worried makes me feel better. I cant wait to hear how much fun you have in Vegas.

I agree with Julia, as hard as it might be, try to focus on the positive on the trip.

Additionally, that verse has had a profound influence on my life lately. Such a "coincidence" that it should be a source of reflection for you as well! :)
