melt my heart.

Meeting for the first time.

Heath fell in love the second he saw him and I fell in love with my husband all over again.

I knew he'd be an amazing dad, but watching him with J today has made me warm and squishy inside.

I love my boys.

I can't even remember how I stumbled upon your blog, but when I did I was drawn to your story and added you to my Google Reader feed.

I think the day I found your blog I was having a pity party because medical school was always my dream, but I let it slip by. I was feeling like a complete failure and then I began reading about your struggles having children and I had an epiphany--noone has "it all" and we should be thankful for what we have. You were living my dream of being a physician, but I was living your dream of being a mommy.

My husband was raised in the foster care system--22 foster homes and 3 boys homes in 12 years. He is half African American and it seems noone wanted a half black boy who was no longer a baby (he was 6 when his mother left him on the side of a country road in Missouri).

We are now awaiting our homestudy with a private agency that is contracted with our state to foster-to-adopt a sibling group. All of our background checks, fingerprints, etc etc are complete and our homestudy should be done within 10 days.

I am elated for you and your husband and little baby J. The adventure has just begun for you. I'll continue to pray for your new little family and follow your story.
